Plastics, papers, and tubes appeared to me with the appearance of skins, organs, and water. I decided to take these manufactured materials to the forest since at some point they had come from nature. So, why did I consider them artificial? And why did I consider a place where trees had been planted and paths laid out as natural? I wondered if that dichotomy had ever been real or if it was simply a cultural distinction, a linguistic convention. Bruno Latour says that the classification we make of what is natural or artificial arises from an attempt to ultimately determine what is good or bad. Then, I realized that the speculative existence of these new beings that had appeared before me materialized the void that exists between such a dichotomy.
